PUEBLO, Colorado — Authorities are investigating after a freight train struck a tractor-trailer south of Pueblo.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train hit the truck along Interstate 25 near the Saint Charles Reservoir at about 4:30 p.m. Friday, trapping the driver inside. The driver, whose name has not been released, was extricated and taken to the hospital.

He was talking to emergency crews at the scene.

Fire inspector Erik Duran tells The Pueblo Chieftain (http://bit.ly/1HSTKyO ) it's unclear if the truck was traveling through the railroad crossing or was stopped on the tracks.

No one was injured on the train, which sustained minimal damage.
