LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Winter weather and freezing rain advisories are in effect in northern and northeastern Arkansas, where frozen precipitation is possible.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock says the advisories will expire Sunday afternoon as temperatures warm and a mix of freezing rain and sleet turns to rain.
Forecasters say precipitation will continue through Sunday night and will become a cold rain.
Less than one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is expected and the main areas of concern will be elevated roadways, such as bridges and overpasses, and elevated objects like power lines and trees.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of sleet or freezing rain could cause travel difficulties.
