MOUNDSVILLE, West Virginia — A former Moundsville police officer faces sex charges involving a 15-year-old girl.
Media outlets report that a Marshall County grand jury indicted 26-year-old Benjamin Davis this week on charges of third-degree sexual assault and distribution of obscene material to a minor.
A criminal complaint says Davis met the girl through a chat-based smartphone application. He is accused of having sexual contact with her at his residence.
Davis resigned from the police department in February.
