ASBURY PARK, New Jersey — New Jersey officials have identified a man who was struck and killed by a train in central New Jersey.
Marcelo Garcia-Roque was struck shortly before 9 p.m. Monday in Asbury Park.
The 20-year-old city man was on the tracks near the Asbury Park station when he was struck by the North Jersey Coastline train. He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
None of the 58 people aboard the train were injured in the accident. It had departed from Long Branch and was headed to Bay Head.
