BALTIMORE — Authorities say three Baltimore County police officers shot an armed suspect during an investigation in northeast Baltimore City.
Baltimore City police say the officers, who are part of a support services unit, were conducting surveillance Monday morning on a person they say is a suspect in a double stabbing that occurred over the weekend near a county nightclub. Police say the officers had a warrant for the man, but when they tried to arrest him, he displayed a handgun.
Baltimore City police spokesman Detective Ruganzu Howard said the officers fired their weapons and that the suspect was taken to an area hospital. He did not specify the man's condition.
Baltimore City Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
The officers have been placed on administrative leave.
