LANCASTER, Ohio — A 58-year-old Ohio man died following an accident involving two motorcycles and sport-utility vehicle that occurred just outside Columbus.

Police say Lancaster resident Dwight Turner died Sunday at the scene of the crash in Fairfield County.

Turner and 57-year-old Patricia Turner were riding their motorcycles on Route 159 around 1 p.m. when a SUV went off the right side of the road and struck the victim. State Highway Patrol says the SUV driver hit Turner's motorcycle after she overcorrected and went left of center.

Police say Patricia Turner swerved to avoid being hit, went off the right side of the road and overturned. She was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.
