San Diego (5-9, 0-3) was led by Vasa Pusica with 19 points, despite going 1 of 6 on 3-pointers. Jito Kok added 15 points and four blocked shots.
Three consecutive 3-pointers — two by Boyce — midway through the first put USF up 21-13, and the Dons led by seven, 31-24, at intermission.
San Diego got as close as four several times in the second half, but couldn't get over the hump. USF made 6 of 8 from the line late to ice it.
