LEESBURG, Virginia — Leesburg Police have charged the 69-year-old driver of a Porsche Carrera with ramming a truck in a reported road-rage incident.

David Ray Godfrey of Waterford was charged Friday with attempted malicious wounding and reckless driving. He was released on bond.

Police say they received multiple calls about a road-rage incident between a Porsche and another car on the Route 7 Bypass. A Freightliner truck ahead of the incident tried to avoid the cars by pulling onto an exit.

Police say the Porsche pulled onto the same exit and struck the back of the truck. Police say Godfrey then rammed the truck several times on its side near the fuel tank while passing it on the exit ramp.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene because of the damage.
