FRANKFORT, Kentucky — Crews are still out plowing and treating roads across the state after a winter storm dumped up to two feet of snow and trapped some travelers on the interstate.

The Kentucky Department of Transportation warns motorists that are out on Friday to drive cautiously. Although roads have been plowed, many still have packed snow and icy conditions are possible with subfreezing temperatures.

In addition to snow and ice, officials say some roads in eastern Kentucky are blocked by floodwaters.

In central Kentucky, officials said they were able to clear the roads enough to get motorists who were stranded on Interstate 65 moving again on Thursday, but accidents early Friday were slowing traffic.

Meanwhile, several schools and some businesses remain closed.
