Troopers identify man killed in head-on collision on Parks Highway north of Wasilla

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Alaska State Troopers have released the name of the man killed Thursday in a head-on collision on the Parks Highway.

Troopers say 81-year-old Vincent Jenkins of Wasilla died in the crash near Mile 48 about six miles north of Wasilla.

Investigators say the crash occurred when a southbound pickup driven by 41-year-old David Fraker of Wasilla crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound small sedan driven by Jenkins.

Troopers took a call on the crash at 9:12 a.m.

Fraker was injured and transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital.

Traffic was diverted around the crash for about four hours.
