PHOENIX — A man who pleaded guilty to robbing a Scottsdale bank last August has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

Federal prosecutors say Richard J. Ramage Jr. also was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court to five years of supervised release.

They say Ramage pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery and use of a firearm during a crime of violence and agreed to the sentence as part of a plea agreement.

Ramage was arrested as he tried to drive out of a parking lot.

Police say Ramage entered a bank disguised and armed with a handgun and forced employees to fill a bag with money out of the vault.

He reportedly bound three employees and a customer with zip ties before stealing an employee's vehicle and trying to flee.
