MOORELAND, Oklahoma — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a 3.4 magnitude earthquake in northwestern Oklahoma.

The USGS says the temblor was recorded at 1:23 p.m. about 13 miles northeast of Mooreland, about 110 miles northwest of Oklahoma City.

Woodward County Emergency Management director Matt Lehenbauer says there are no reports of damage or injury.

Scientists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are general the smallest that are felt by humans and that damage is not likely from quakes of below magnitude 4.0.
