GULFPORT, Mississippi — With cold weather forecast, the Salvation Army is opening cold weather shelters on the Mississippi Coast.
The organization said Sunday that shelters in Gulfport and Pascagoula would be open Sunday and Monday night.
WLOX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1By9KCW ) that a shelter in D'Iberville (dee-EYE-bur-vil) also was opening both nights.
The cold follows storms that the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says damaged houses and caused flooding in Covington, Jasper, Jefferson Davis and Lauderdale counties and downed trees in Newton and Oktibbeha counties.
He says damage assessments are continuing, and people should report damages to local emergency management agencies.
No injuries were reported.
