MONTGOMERY, Alabama — Authorities say a North Carolina couple and their son were killed in an Alabama interstate crash involving three tractor-trailers and seven passenger cars.
Montgomery police Tuesday identified the victims as 49-year-old Christine Edwards, her 50-year-old husband, Dedrick Edwards, and their 10-year-old son, Dedrick Edwards Jr. Authorities said the family was from Swansboro, North Carolina.
They died Monday morning in the 10-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Montgomery. Authorities say five other people hurt in the crash were transported for medical treatment, but none had injuries that appeared life-threatening.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
