JACKSON, Wyoming — Jackson Hole Airport has seen a significant rise in the number of travelers through the first five months of this year.
The 108,000 commercial fliers from January through May marked a 10 percent jump over last year's numbers and reflect a 25 percent jump over the number of travelers in 2012.
No new flights have debuted to date in 2014, meaning that more people are simply booking more of the flights that are available.
Airport Director Ray Bishop says the numbers reflect a more robust local economy and good weather in Jackson Hole.
Bishop tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide (http://bit.ly/1prBy9m ) that all signs are that the airport will be busy this summer.
