LOUISBURG, North Carolina — One firefighter has died and another has been hurt when their truck overturned in Franklin County.
Sheriff Jerry Jones told local reporters a Justice Rural Volunteer Fire Department tanker overturned on a curve late Tuesday afternoon as they were responding to a call near Louisburg.
The tanker driver was killed. The other firefighter was treated and released from a hospital. Their names have not been released.
Jones says excessive speed does not appear to have been a factor in the wreck.
The call turned out to be a false alarm.
