CONWAY, South Carolina — It's not just bikers raising concerns on South Carolina's Grand Strand. Now it's Mustang drivers.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports ( ) that Horry County Councilman Brent Schulz is calling for more law enforcement to keep drivers and crowds under control during Mustang Week held each July.

Extreme Productions president Rodney Melton which says he was surprised by drivers who drove dangerously during this year's event.

Melton says he plans to hire more off-duty police officers next year to help control the small number of drivers who act up. Mustang Week started seven years ago with about 4,000 attendees. This year, there were about 10,000.

Grand Strand communities are working on a safety plan after violence marred last Memorial Day's Atlantic Beach Bikefest.
