COLUMBIA, South Carolina — Another winter storm is heading toward South Carolina.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the northwestern part of South Carolina on Wednesday morning because of the danger of black ice left from Tuesday's storm.

But even more winter weather is expected Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

Forecasters say up to 8 inches of snow could fall in the Upstate. Up to 2 inches of snow is possible north of Columbia. Up to a half inch of snow is possible in the northeastern part of the state away from the beaches.

The major electric utilities in the state reported no significant problems early Wednesday.

Some schools were opening late Wednesday because of the aftermath of Tuesday's storm.
