OKLAHOMA CITY — The American Red Cross says it has closed three shelters and has left one open after a violent outbreak of storms raked Oklahoma last week.
The agency said Monday that shelters in Shawnee, Tuttle and Henryetta have closed. A shelter in Oklahoma City at Santa Maria Virgen Episcopal Church is still in operation.
The relief group says its emergency response vehicles continue to provide meals, snacks and water to affected communities and are also distributing cleaning supplies such as rakes, shovels, gloves and masks.
Violent storms tore through Oklahoma and others last week, destroying homes, flipping cars off the interstate and flooding neighborhoods.
