ALTADENA, California — A 23-year-old woman was rescued after spending two cold nights lost in Angeles National Forest.

The hiker was found Monday on a hillside after authorities received calls of a woman crying for help in Rubio Canyon above Altadena.

City News Service says a helicopter crew flew the Reseda resident to a hospital for treatment of possible hypothermia.

Sheriff's officials say the Reseda resident set out on a solo hike to Echo Mountain Saturday with no warm clothing and very little food and water.

The woman told rescuers she took a wrong turn and became lost in an area with no cellphone coverage.

Overnight temperatures in the mountains dipped into the 30s.
