PEORIA, Illinois — Egidijus Mockevicius had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead Evansville in a 66-56 victory over Bradley on Saturday.
Mockevicius made 5 of 7 field goals and added two steals and two blocks. D.J. Balentine scored 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting, and Mislav Brzoja added 10 for Evansville (12-4, 2-2 Missouri Valley). The Purple Aces shot 24 of 45 for 53 percent from the field and outrebounded the Braves 36-32.
Bradley scored four quick points to open the second half and tie it at 36. Evansville answered with a 12-3 surge to make it 48-39 with 14:57 to play, and the Purple Aces led the rest of the way.
