STOCKPORT, New York — A 42-year-old upstate New York woman is facing 14 counts of animal cruelty after three dogs were found dead in a Columbia County home.
State police charged Patricia Gregory of Stockport after also finding several malnourished dogs in need of medical attention at the residence on Thursday. Troopers said the home was in deplorable condition with urine and feces covering the floor and the ailing dogs without access to food or water.
Troopers had gone to the residence for a welfare check. An investigation revealed that Gregory had moved out in November.
The dogs that survived are at Columbia-Greene Humane Society and available for adoption.
