SIDNEY, Ohio — Authorities say a teenager was killed when he was struck by a vehicle as he was walking on a road in western Ohio.
A statement from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Austin Brackman of Minster was walking southbound on a road in McLean Township near Fort Loramie when he was struck about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Investigators say Brackman was hit by vehicle driven by a teen from Fort Loramie. The sheriff's office says the preliminary investigation indicates that the 19-year-old driver also was traveling southbound and failed to see Brackman.
The Shelby County coroner said Brackman was dead at the scene.
Sheriff's officials say the crash remains under investigation.
