COLUMBUS, Ohio — Gas prices in Ohio are down to start the new work week.

The state's average price for a gallon of regular gas was $2.60 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That's down 16 cents from a week ago. It's more than a quarter cheaper than last month at this time, and 65 cents less than a year ago.

The national average Monday was $2.67, which is a dime less than a week ago. Last year at this time, the national average was $3.26.

Experts expect prices to continue falling in the coming weeks as retail prices catch up with decreases in crude oil and wholesale gasoline costs.
