JOSEPH, Oregon — A small earthquake struck northeast Oregon on Monday morning. The U.S. Geological Survey said it was of magnitude 3.4.

The dispatch center at the Wallowa County sheriff's office says it got one report from a resident who said her windows rattled.

The geology agency says the earthquake was centered five miles east of Joseph on the north flank of the Wallowa Mountains. It was about 8 miles deep.
