ST. LOUIS — Parts of Missouri have received several inches of rain during storms this week, and several rivers are flowing over their banks.

The National Weather Service reports mostly minor flooding in parts of northern and central Missouri. The Mississippi River is a couple of feet above flood stage from Hannibal south to the northern part of the St. Louis area. The Missouri River is slightly above flood stage in parts of western Missouri and is expected to crest at a similar level in the eastern part of the state in the approaching days.

Several smaller rivers and creeks also are flooding. The north fork of the Salt River in northeast Missouri is 8 feet above flood stage, a near-record, but no major damage is reported.
