NEW HAVEN, Connecticut — Police are continuing to investigate after a 27-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in New Haven.
Officer David Hartman says the shooting occurred shortly before midnight Friday in the area of Winthrop Avenue and George Street.
The Hartford Courant reports the victim, Michael Murphy, was transported by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital for surgery after being shot in the abdomen. He arrived alert and in stable condition.
Police say the suspect got into a green minivan and fled the scene northbound on Winthrop Avenue toward Edgewood Avenue.
