INDIANAPOLIS — Three motorcyclists have been injured in a crash during the annual governor's motorcycle ride from the Statehouse through southern Indiana.

The governor's office says Gov. Mike Pence wasn't involved in Friday's accident.

Indiana State Police Captain David Bursten says troopers are still investigating the accident on Indiana 356 east of Lexington, Indiana. He says four riders were involved and three were injured. Two were taken to a hospital in Kentucky.

The ride with several hundred members of American Bikers Aimed Toward Education and other motorcyclists is aimed at helping bring awareness to motorcycle safety in Indiana and raises money for the Indiana National Guard Relief Fund to assist Guard soldiers and their families.

The ride travels about 140 miles with stops planned in Columbus, Seymour and Madison.
