DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — Officials say a 10-year-old boy suffered minor injuries when a shark bit his calf at a central Florida Beach.
Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue reports that the Georgia boy was in the water near Daytona Beach Shores Wednesday when he was bit.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://goo.gl/H41p0k ) reports that the boy was treated at the scene.
Shark bites are fairly common in Florida, mostly resulting in minor injuries.
Two teenagers were seriously injured in separate shark attacks in the same North Carolina town on Sunday.
