ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — The Albuquerque Fire Department says one person is dead and two others injured as a result of an early morning apartment fire.

The Fire Department says the person found dead after the fire was put out Thursday morning was one of three residents of the apartment that burned.

It's part of 19-unit complex on Coal Avenue Southwest.

According to the Fire Department, one of the two people injured while escaping the fire lived in the unit that burned and the other injured person lived next door.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
