PHOENIX — Phoenix police say one of three men who assaulted another man is in critical condition after the victim pulled out a gun and shot him.

Police spokesman Sgt. Vince Lewis says one uninjured assailant was arrested after the pair brought their friend to another location and police were called. The other uninjured man is being sought.

Lewis says the men went to confront the victim at his home about an "adult relationship" Sunday. The victim was attacked when he stepped outside his home and retreated inside.

The victim told police he saw one of the men with a knife and the other with what he thought might be a pipe so he got his gun and started shooting. Police are looking for 43-year-old Tommy Ephrim in connection with the assault.
