LAS VEGAS — President Barack Obama is visiting the home of Las Vegas Sun publisher Brian Greenspun for a Democratic party fundraiser following remarks at the National Clean Energy Summit.

Air Force One touched down shortly before 4:25 p.m. Monday at McCarran International Airport where Obama was greeted by Gov. Brian Sandoval, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and County Commissioner Steve Sisolak.

Obama is staying in Las Vegas overnight before returning to the White House Tuesday morning.

Earlier, the president announced initiatives aimed at making it easier to invest in green energy improvements.

Obama and U.S. Sen. Harry Reid are co-hosting the fundraiser. The dinner is raising money for Democratic Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto. Reid is leaving the Senate after the 2016 election. Masto is running against Republican Rep. Joe Heck.
