NORMAN, Oklahoma — Norman police say one man is hospitalized after being shot by officers at the end of a police chase on the east side of Norman.

Police Capt. Tom Easley said in a statement Saturday that the man was shot about 1 p.m. and suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his torso.

The names of the man and the officers involved in the shooting were not immediately released.

Easley says the chase began about 12:30 p.m. Saturday when officers responded to reports of a suspicious person and vehicle in the area. Easley says the suspect drove away from officers before crashing at a T-intersection and was shot a short time later.

Further details regarding the shooting were not released.
