Girl hurt in Loudon County crash with ambulance dies of injuries

GREENBACK, Tennessee — A five-year-old Roane County girl injured in a crash with an ambulance has died from her injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says Lillian Creek was hurt when the minivan she was in collided with an ambulance Wednesday on state Highway 95 in Loudon County.

The News Sentinel in Knoxville reports ( ) she died on Saturday from injuries suffered in the crash.

The Highway Patrol says the girl's mother was driving the minivan when "she possibly turned her head to tend to her passengers." The vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with the ambulance.

The girl was one of five children in the vehicle at the time of the accident. All suffered injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

Two the occupants of ambulance were also hurt.
