LAKE MARY, Florida — Florida wildlife authorities have captured and killed a bear that is suspected to be the one that bit a woman walking her dog in the Orlando suburb of Lake Mary.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission on Friday reports that the bear was identified by reports from residents and the victim.
The capture came after a woman was bitten on the arm while walking her dog on Wednesday.
Officials also captured two of the euthanized bear's cubs, killing one in the process of capture. The FWC says it is performing a necropsy on the cub in an effort to find out its cause of death.
The surviving cub is old enough to survive on its own and will be released.
