FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — After a week of scattered opening games to the high school season, the state's best return to the normalcy of Friday nights this week.

No game is bigger than a top nonconference matchup between No. 2 North Little Rock at No. 3 Fayetteville.

The Charging Wildcats (1-0) opened their season with a 17-7 win over Little Rock Catholic, a game in which standout wide receiver — and Arkansas commitment — K.J. Hill caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.

North Little Rock last faced the Purple Bulldogs (1-0) in the 2012 playoffs, a game Fayetteville won 30-28 on its way to the Class 7A state championship. Fayetteville is led this season by talented tight end C.J. O'Grady, also an Arkansas commitment, and hopes to make an early championship statement on Friday.
