THIBODAUX, Louisiana — Marquis Hayes scored on an 88-yard run and Devante Scott had a 77-yard receiving touchdown as Southeastern Louisiana rolled to a 62-3 win over Nicholls State in the River Bell Classic on Thursday night.
The Lions (9-3, 7-1) earned a share of the Southland Conference title. Nicholls State finished 0-11, 0-7.
Scott, who finished with career-highs of 7 catches for 196 yards to go over 1,000 for the season, had the first big play, hooking up with Bryan Bennett to give the Lions a 7-3 lead.
Hayes, listed has a wide receiver, had 6 carries for 199 yards and the TD in the fourth quarter.
Jordan Barnett replaced Bennett early in the game and completed 12 of 19 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a score.
The Tigers piled up 634 yards, 314 on the ground, and held the Colonels to 279.
