LIVERPOOL, England — Everton consigned Aston Villa to a fourth straight defeat by winning 3-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday in a match featuring the return after injury of Ross Barkley.
Phil Jagielka scored for the second straight match to give Everton an 18th-minute lead and Villa's American goalkeeper, Brad Guzan, let Romelu Lukaku's shot squirm away from him to make it 2-0 in the 48th.
Free-scoring right back Seamus Coleman completed the easy win in the 76th.
Barkley, the young England midfielder, played 66 minutes in his first appearance of the season after knee-ligament damage.
It was Everton's first home win of the season.
