WASHINGTON — District of Columbia police say one man was fatally shot and two others were shot and critically wounded in southeast Washington.
The shooting occurred late Saturday night, just before midnight. Police say officers got a call about gunshots and found the three victims on Elvans Road in the Barry Farm community.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's office. The two other men were taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
Police have not identified the victims or any suspects. The shooting remains under investigation.
Homicides are up by 45 percent in the nation's capital this year compared to last year.
