FAIRBANKS, Alaska — A 9-year-old Delta Junction boy is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered in an accidental shooting.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://bit.ly/1qizzPx) reports the boy's 15-year-old brother was handling a .22-caliber rifle Wednesday afternoon inside a home and the gun fired.

The younger boy was driven to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.

He was reported as stable Thursday.

Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says the injury was not life-threatening.

She says no adults were at the home when the rifle fired.
