'Miracle' that Shoreline basketball team survived bus crash; 'nothing short of gift from God'

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, Washington — The coach and members of the of the King's High School boys basketball team say it was a "miracle" no one was seriously hurt when their bus overturned on its side on an Interstate 5 off-ramp at Mountlake Terrace.

KOMO reports (http://bit.ly/1yTexvq) Assistant Principal and coach Rick Skeen told a student assembly Tuesday it was "nothing short of a gift from God" that everyone was able to walk out of the hospital a few hours after the Saturday night crash.

The Washington State Patrol said 10 of the 16 people aboard had injuries that included a concussion, broken arm, scrapes and bruises. The bus carried 12 players, two coaches and the driver.

The driver says her brakes didn't work. The Washington State Patrol is still investigating.
