NYON, Switzerland — Europa League runner-up Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk is among six clubs facing UEFA sanctions for late payments under Financial Fair Play rules.

UEFA says the six have had their Europa League prize money this season withheld pending judgment by its club financial control panel in December.

The clubs are: Dnipro of Ukraine, Braga of Portugal, Inter Baku of Azerbaijan and Romanian clubs Targu-Mures, Astra Giurgiu and Botosani.

The six missed deadlines in June and September to pay outstanding transfer fees, wages or social taxes.

UEFA says investigations are ongoing into overspending by Turkish clubs Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor on player transfers and wages.

Those cases will be reviewed in February.

UEFA is in its third season of applying sanctions for clubs breaking Financial Fair Play rules, which were relaxed in the offseason.
