KENT, New York — A stretch of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 in New York City's northern suburbs have reopened after being shut down for about six hours by a two-vehicle crash that has left an upstate New York woman in critical condition.

State police say 27-year-old Myra Babar of East Fishkill in Dutchess County was driving east around 12:45 a.m. Friday when she crashed on a curve in the neighboring Putnam County town of Kent.

Troopers say Babar's vehicle ran into a rock embankment before coming to rest in the right lane, where it was hit by an eastbound tractor-trailer.

She was taken to Westchester Medical Center, where she's listed in critical condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
