MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina — A company can continue to operate helicopter tours in Myrtle Beach, the South Carolina Court of Appeals has ruled.
the court on Wednesday agreed with a lower court judge that Helicopter Adventures can continue to fly, The Sun News of Myrtle Beach (http://bit.ly/1Fnh4lV) reported.
Local resident Richard Hinde said he was disappointed with the Appeals Court decision. Hinde says property values have dropped because of the company's operations.
"The people over here can't sell their homes because the property values have dropped," Hinde said. "Your biggest investment is your home and you can't even go outside and enjoy it because every nice day they're flying.
Helicopter Adventures opened in 2012. Nearby residents have complained since then about noise and danger.
The court was considering whether the helicopter tour company was being properly permitted to operate in Horry County's amusement commercial zoning.
