SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police say an officer has shot and wounded a robbery suspect who pointed a shotgun at him.
Police say the man led officers on a chase Monday after a robbery at a gas station. They chased the man to an area home and officers say he exited the vehicle with a sawed-off shotgun.
Police say the man pointed the weapon at them and the officer fired several rounds at him. They say he was struck once in the shoulder.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital. His condition is unclear and his identity hasn't been released.
Police say the officer has worked for the department for four years but they haven't released his name. He has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
