    ST. LOUIS PARK, Minnesota — Eden Prairie's J.D. Spielman has won the 2015 Minnesota Mr. Football award.

    Spielman was presented with the award Sunday by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association at the annual Mr. Football banquet. The four-position player was a running back, wide receiver, defensive back and returner for Class 6A Eden Prairie.

    Spielman scored 19 rushing touchdowns during his senior year and caught two TDs. He added three more touchdowns on kickoff and punt returns and two more TDs on interceptions.

    Spielman racked up 1,259 yards rushing on 102 carries this season and made 13 catches for 203 yards.

    Spielman is the second player from Eden Prairie to win the Mr. Football award, after linebacker Blake Sorensen in 2006. His coach is Mike Grant, son of former Minnesota Vikings coach Bud Grant.
