PORTLAND, Oregon — Police say three young people have been wounded by gunfire at a street fair in northeast Portland.
Sgt. Pete Simpson says those injured Thursday include two 15-year-old boys and a 25-year-old woman. Simpson says the woman was earlier incorrectly described as a 16-year-old. Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.
Simpson says it's unclear if all three were intended targets. The police department's gang unit was investigating the scene on Northeast Alberta Street.
The spokesman says police arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the shooting and recovered a handgun. Two men accused of interfering with the investigation were also arrested.
Simpson says officers assigned to the area for the "Last Thursday" fair event heard multiple gunshots shortly before 5:30 p.m.
