FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts — State police say a trooper has been struck and injured by a suspected drunk driver while working a traffic detail following a New England Patriots game.

The trooper was working a traffic control assignment on foot in Foxborough when he was hit by a Jeep Liberty at about 11:50 p.m. Monday.

The trooper was in pain but alert and able to walk. He was treated for minor injuries at Norwood Hospital and released.

The driver, 29-year-old Catherine E. Williams of Beverly, was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol.

She was bailed from the barracks after being booked and is expected in Wrentham District Court on Tuesday for arraignment.

It wasn't immediately known if she has a lawyer.

This story has been corrected to show the name of the town is Foxborough, not Foxboro.
