LOS ANGELES — Anthony Drmic scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Boise State beat San Diego 81-75 on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
David Wacker and Mikey Thompson each added 12 points for the Broncos.
San Diego led by single digits through much of the first half until Drmic hit a three with 7:13 left in the period and Robert Heyer sank another less than a minute later to turn it around for Boise State, 23-22. The Broncos led 35-33 at the break.
The Torreros' Johnny Dee tightened it up to 79-75 on a three with 19 seconds to play but it was too late. Dee finished with 7 of 15 shooting for 25 points from the floor.
