DAVIDSON, North Carolina — Peyton Aldridge scored 17 points and Davidson hit eight 3-pointers to defeat UNC-Wilmington 72-49 on Saturday.

Jack Gibbs added 13 points for the Wildcats (3-1), 10 in the first half, to help produce a 41-24 lead.

Addison Spruill had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Cedrick 15 and 12 for the Seahawks (2-1), who shot just 30.4 percent (17-56, 3 of 15 from 3-point range) and 11 of 20 free throws.

Aldridge had nine rebounds as Davidson won the battle of the boards 50-45.

A 16-3 run gave Davidson a 30-14 lead at the 4:22 mark. Gibbs had six points and Tyler Kalinoski five, including a 3 to close the run.

UNC-Wilmington was within 55-39 with 9:51 to play but went scoreless for more than 4 minutes to decide the outcome.
